The Basic White Button Down is anything but basic and something we can all easily find in our closet. Since it’s my first official post, I’ll highlight a few different ways each life face (What are life faces? Click here to find out) might wear it. A way to dress it up, down and somewhere in between. Have fun with a casual feel. I love the simplicity of sandals and top knot in the first girl’s look who is obviously on her way to meet her BFF’s for brunch and shopping. There’s a hint of menswear in the second look when paired with calf high socks and oxfords. Take it even further with an argyle printed sock and layer your button down under a vest or sweater. Add your backpack and you are ready for class. This 3rd girl knows how to elevate her look for a date night or girls night out! Take a cue from lady #1 and layer a great shorter cut top over it and pair with distressed denim, heels and bag for a casual feel. Beyond worrying about getting things like milk or pizza sauce on your clothes, you have a lot of freedom in your wardrobe. Don’t get caught up in thinking you can’t dress nice because your only errand is Target that day. The better you treat yourself, the better you’ll feel. Your job is a VERY important one! This doesn’t mean you have to wear heels! But don’t fall into the trap of yoga pants and tennis shoes everyday! This casual look used the button up as a make shift cardigan layered under an olive vest and over a tee. Pair with denim and booties and done! Just in time for that Target trip before picking the kids up from school. Because let’s face it. We’re all hovering somewhere around pj’s for drop off. I have 3 small kids. I live in reality. Wear this second look to Parent Teacher conferences or luncheons. Layer under a sweater and pair with a flared leg denim and either flats, or if you’re capable of chasing a toddler in them, heels. The 3rd night is for date night. Try an a-line skirt in a pop of color! Add a patterned clutch like this one (on sale) in leopard! Have fun playing with accessories. Each of these looks is absolutely impeccable. Without a doubt, this woman makes heads turn everywhere she goes and people instantly know her. Pair a vest and blazer with your top to elevate a skinny jean. Command attention in the board room in a skirt with a bold, graphic design (similar here.)
